The Journey That Brought Me Here

For more than 13 years, Road 2 Recovery has been part of my professional identity - a journey grounded in recovery, human connection, and a deep respect for the strength of the human spirit.

Before opening my private practice, I served as Clinical Director at two outpatient treatment facilities in Brooklyn, one in Boro Park and the other in Flatbush.

Those experiences shaped me profoundly, both professionally and personally.

They provided opportunities to work with people from different backgrounds, facing different challenges, each carrying their own experiences, struggles, strengths, and hopes.

And they taught me that no two journeys are ever the same.

Seeing the Person Beyond the Paperwork

Throughout my years as Clinical Director, I became increasingly aware of the limitations that can exist within structured treatment systems.

Paperwork, insurance requirements, and standardized approaches often dictated how treatment was delivered and how quickly someone was expected to progress.

But people don't necessarily grow according to an insurance company's timeline.

And meaningful change doesn't always fit neatly into one treatment model.

I wanted something different.

I wanted to see the person beyond the paperwork.

I wanted the freedom to explore different approaches, to listen more deeply, and to work with people at their own pace rather than at a pace determined primarily by outside systems.

Most importantly, I wanted the individual - not the paperwork or the insurance company - to remain at the center of the work.

That desire led me to leave my clinical leadership positions and establish my own private practice.

More Than One Way Forward

My professional development has never been limited to one particular approach.

Over the years, I have studied and trained in many modalities - far more than the ones I currently offer.

I've always been curious about the different ways people experience recovery, navigate challenges, and discover possibilities for change.

My lived experiences have also shaped the way I understand this work.

They have taught me lessons that cannot always be learned in a classroom or captured in a textbook.

The approaches I've chosen to offer today are intentional.

They reflect my professional training, personal experiences, and the meaningful results I have witnessed in my work and experienced through my own journey.

I don't believe that any single approach is right for everyone.

I believe in having different tools, understanding when they may be useful, and recognizing that the individual - not the modality - comes first.

Today, my practice brings together breathwork facilitation, at-home neurofeedback, trauma-informed work, and Substance Abuse Professional services.

Each serves a different purpose.

What connects them is my commitment to meeting people as individuals, with respect for their experiences, their choices, and their own way forward.
